Pinoy Answers Community Meet Up?

Actually, it’s a question that every Pinoy here in Answers should answer. Is it time for us to have a community meet up or not? I’m just starting to meet all of you online but I’m sure it will be more exciting if we have an offline event, a meet up of the Pinoy Community in Yahoo! Answers! 
Of course, this question raises a string of related questions. When do we schedule the meet up? I’m thinking July, but is it too soon or just right? How about August? We can have dinner in a restaurant, which leads to the next important question. Where can we have our meet up? I’m thinking in a restaurant in Makati City? If not maybe Ortigas or Quezon City? Any particular restaurant you have in mind? Of course, I also want to have a meet up in Cebu (lived there for three years!), and definitely in Davao (can’t forget my Dabawenyo friends, hehehe), definitely in succeeding meet ups.
So share me your thoughts on this as we organize our first Pinoy Answers Community Meet Up. I’ll make sure to book the place for the event, ensure there’s food and drinks for everyone, prepare an exciting and un-boring program, and bring lots of Yahoo! giveaways to give away! Hope to see everyone soon!
UPDATE: There’s a big chance I’ll be in the Philippines this July 17 and 18 (a Thursday and a Friday), maybe we can set the Meet Up on the 18th of July, a Friday evening maybe?

We can the meet up as an avenue to promote Yahoo answers among Davao/Mindanao Bloggers.
how about in cagayan de oro also? im a student here in xavier university and lots of student do have a yahoo answer,

It is a great idea.
My thoughts are because the Pinoys Answers Community are spread out all over the face of the earth, one can only do so per area–such as one for Metro Manila & its suburbs, one for maybe Metro Cebu, etc. etc.
And there needs to be a contact person per area that would organize & coordinate their respective meet up. But of course there can be a Grand Reunion (Meet-up) but that needs to be really a lot of planning, coordination & organization.
I will post a link of this blog post on my YA Travel Philippines (YAP) Blog & let’s see what the YAP Community thinks about this.

I posted this question on Yahoo answers but I was reported and accused of soliciting of some sort. Great you brought up this question here and I like this idea. Let’s have it in Ortigas somewhere in El Pueblo. This is exciting!

i’m a malaysian student here in kota kinabalu sabah malaysia…nice to know about what you hve plan..as a comment i will make you sure that it will have a commetment if you will do it properly…hope you can visit here in malasia…im a student here taking up a diploma in liesure management major in toursm…my parents send me here to continue my studies as a toursm…im alone here my parents live in philippines, zamboanga sibugay…im 19 years old and im here almost 8 months…i know already how to speak malay…

hello! yeah, actually last december 2007, i met some of the “yappers” or pinoy answers people. and this plan is also great! i hope to see new faces.. haha
@Lhurey - I like it in Cebu, but maybe in the next meetup.
@MiGs - We’ll definitely have one in Davao in the future, and rest assured you and the rest of the Davao/Mindanao bloggers will be informed about it.
@bj - Thanks for the info Bj! Just like my answer to MiGs and Lhurey, Cagayan de Oro is a potential venue for an Answers meet up in the future. I’ll certainly keep in mind that students in Xavier use Answers regularly.
Btw, I’ve been to CDO once, can’t wait to try out the rapids when I return there, hehehe.

@Japs - Thanks Japs, I agree with your suggestion. We can do this one event at a time, starting in Metro Manila muna. Once we have successful meet ups like this, we can eventually plan for a grand event like the one you just suggested.

@Hot Chick - Sayang you’re not in the country when the meet up takes place, but I’ll be posting updates in this blog about it and pics in Flickr. Who knows, we may have another meet up when you have a chance to go back home sa Pinas.

The Fort is also a cool venue, I’ll consider your suggestion.

hi jonas! there was an event organized by the yappers. a yahoogroup was created and invited whoever was interested to join. we held discussions in the group, exchanged our contact numbers and set a date and place where we can meet. we had lunch in greenbelt. we also had dinner when one of the yappers from the US went back here.
Sure. But we need one for each Island. Luzon - Manila, Visayas - Cebu and Mindanao - Davao. It should be on a saturday. We should also make one for out-of-the-country Pinoy Answerers.
what about in QC? I’ll be home (from the US) this July 10th ’til August 2nd…
Please please I hope that we can also do it in Cebu. I am from Cebu and I believe that there are also plenty of YAPpers and YAers in Cebu.

@jamiehappy97 - I agree with you, and I’m actually planning something like this. Of course, it would help if users from Visayas and Mindanao would email me their request to have a community meet up there so that it will be easier to convince my higher ups that we need to have an event there soon!:)

This is definitely a great opportunity to bond with your fellow YAPpers, and don’t worry because we’ll be treating everyone! 
@))paO(( - Sorry paO but we won’t have enought time if we make it at lunch time because others may have to go back to work right away, the best schedule we can set for everyone is dinner. I hope this works well with you and that you’ll be there in the event as well.
